But let's begin from the beginning. The Rams started off the regular season with three wins but then were matched up with the Tennessee Volunteers on a neutral court, where they would lose 72-77 in a close encounter. From there, VCU dropped games here and there but overall it was a successful campaign in which it finished 27-11 overall. At one point the Rams won nine straight matchups in the Colonial Athletic Association. All in all, in the conference VCU finished 12-6, good for fourth place behind George Mason, Old Dominion and Hofstra. Yet the the Rams played even better in the CAA tournament, beating Drexel (62-60) and then regular-season champions George Mason with relative ease, 79-63. However, in the finals they fell short to Old Dominion in a 65-70 loss. (source:- others website)
It's been a spectacular tournament for the Virginia Commonwealth Rams, who needed to play its way into the Big Dance but now are one of the only eight remaining teams.
